When she reached the altar, she looked directly at me.
�Please,� she said clearly. �Listen before you marry him and his family.�

The woman didn�t react. She just looked calmly at the woman who was going to be my mother-in-law before turning back toward me.

The baby shifted softly in her arms.
I stared at the tiny face peeking out from the blanket before looking back at my fianc�.
