The Final Revenge

His eyes widened in horror.

“What?!”

“Either you confess today… or I will.”

That evening, the three of us sat together in the living room.

Jane held her baby in her arms, smiling innocently, completely unaware that her world was about to collapse.

Meanwhile, Tunde was trembling violently.

Jane frowned nervously.

“What’s going on? Why are both of you acting strange?”

Tunde glanced at me fearfully before finally breaking down.

He confessed everything.

The messages.
The flirting.
The attempts.
The lies.

At first, Jane refused to believe him.

Then she turned toward me with tears already filling her eyes.

“Mum… is this true?”

I closed my eyes painfully before answering:

“Yes… unfortunately.”

Jane let out a heartbreaking scream that I will never forget for the rest of my life.

As for Tunde—

He left the house that same night and never returned.

Months passed.

Jane and her baby moved in with me permanently.

Little by little, she tried healing from the betrayal.

And me?

I went back to taking my medication regularly, but something inside me had changed forever.

I realized revenge can give temporary satisfaction…

But it can also slowly transform the victim into another monster.

And sometimes, late at night, I still stand in front of my mirror remembering how close I came to destroying myself just to hurt someone else.

Then I quietly thank God…

That I stopped before it was too late.
